spusu Vienna Capitals beat KHL Medvescak Zagreb 5:0 and moved up to place 1 in the ranking. Champion HCB Südtirol Alperia has returned on the winning-street. Besides, HC Orli Znojmo, Fehervar AV19, EC Red Bull Salzburg, and EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz have earned three points in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga on Friday.

Fri, 07.12.2018: Fehervar AV19 vs. Dornbirn Bulldogs 5:2 (1:0,2:2,2:0)

The game started balanced, then Saauer threatened but Rinne got the puck. After a counterattack, Parks served the first chance for Dornbirn, then Macierzinsky was close to scoring. Fehervar possessed the puck more in the upcoming minutes, both Hari and Meland missed the net, then in the 12th minute, the Hungarians had their biggest chance so far, Dornbirn had to save the puck on the goal line. Sarpatki was penalized but the guests could not put pressure on Fehervar. Phillips missed on a breakaway, then Carruth passed to Harty, Sarpatki’s shot was saved by Rinne but on the rebound, Koskiranta put the puck in the net. Wolf had to sit in the penalty box after the goal, but the powerplay went on without bigger chances. At the beginning of the second period, the Hungarians doubled their lead, the puck went from Rinne in front of Erdely, who did not miss. After Egger’s penalty, Fehervar attacked five on four again, but neither Phillips, nor Glenn scored. Dornbirn was more effective on their powerplay, the cut the difference after many chances from close to one, however, the referees decided that the goal was valid with the help of the VGJ as Carruth’s mask went off. After the goal, the game went on balanced again, then Egger fouled, however, it was thew guests to score, O’Donnell got to a rebound first and he put the puck in the net. Fehervar defended well on Sille’s penalty, then just one second left in the period, Daniel Szabo scored a blueliner, putting his team up one goal again. The third period started with nKuralt’s penalty but the score remained 3-2. Playing full strength, the game continued without big chances, then Parks threatened. Erdely and Pulli both had to sit in the penalty box but neither team scored four on four either. In the middle of the period, Fehervar missed another powerplay, Kuralt’s shot was saved by Rinne then Erdely shot from close. Fehervar’s defense worked well in the upcoming minutes, too, yet the Hungarians were not active in front of the net. Dornbirn did not manage to threaten either. 2 minutes left in the game coach MacQueen pulled his goalie, first Tikkanen scored in the empty net, and 30 seconds before the buzzer Kuralt’s EN goal made the end result 5-2.

EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz were the chiefs on the ice in Innsbruck. Schofield has finally netted the 1:0 from close range (15.). The Tyroleans took some penalties and this was punished by the guests in period 2: Umicevic netted the 2:0 5-on-3 after just 54 seconds after the re-start. The Tyroleans had no answer today and were punished for each penalty. Corey Locke (32./pp), Davies (34./pp) and Dan DaSilva (36./pp) potted another three Power Play goals for Linz in period 2 – 5:0. In period 3 the Black Wings controlled the game.

EC Red Bull Salzburg and Moser Medical Graz99ers have faced each other on eye-level in the first 20 minutes. But, the Mozart Citizens punished the Mur Citizens  for taking penalties in period 1: Van De Velde (11./pp) and Raymond (19./pp) gave the Vice-Champion a 2:1-lead thanks two Power Play goals. After the re-start, the 99ers started applying pressure on their opponent and were finally rewarded with the 2:2 netted by King (33,9. The Red Bulls stayed unimpressed and responded soon:  Van De Velde netted the 3:2 just 51 seconds later. In period 3 the guests tried everything to equalize the game, but without any success. The Red Bulls have beaten the 99ers 3:2 and overtaken in the standing as well.

spusu Vienna Capitals started applying pressure on KHL Medvescak Zagreb from the beginning. The first goal was just a question of time. The break-through has come in minute 18: Vause netted the 1:0 after a solo. The forward was not to stop by the Bears in the following minutes as well and added two goals within the next 83 seconds – 3:0. The Vause show continued in period 2: The forward netted the 4:0 after a break-away. On the other side, the Bears could not beat goalie Jean Philippe Lamoureux. The last 20 minutes belong to the Austrians as well. Peter Schneider has even potted the 5:0 in a Power Play. The spusu Vienna Capitals returned on the top of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and will welcome Dornbirn Bulldogs on Saturday.

The fans got to see a goal-festival between HC Orli Znojmo and EC-KAC on Friday. Mitch Wahls Power Play goal gave Klagenfurt a 1:0-lead. But, the „Red Eagles“ stayed unimpressed and responded with four goals potted by Luciani (12.), new arrival Vainonen (15./pp), Kalus (16./pp) and Hlava (18.) within 364 seconds – 4:1. Then, the Czechs took penalties and this was quickly punished by the Austrians: Andrew Kozek (20./pp) and Matt Neal (26./pp) netted two Power Play goals and Klagenfurt was back in the match. But, HC Orli Znojmo responded quickly: Just 45 seconds later, McPherson netted the 5:3 for the Czechs. And after a fight, Znojmo continued the match on Power Play and took advantage with Kujawinski netting the 6:3. But, Klagenfurt responded with a Power Play goal from Fischer (38.). The Czechs were not to stop in period 3 as well and have added two more goals fom Sedlak and Kujawinski. Klagenfurt lost and fell in the ranking from place 1 to 2.

HCB Südtirol Alperia has been the chief on the ice against bottom club EC Panaceo VSV. The break-through has finally come in minute 10: After a mistake from Villach, Captain Anton Bernard (10.) potted the 1:0 from the circle. And still in period 1, Alex Petan (19.) netted the 2:0 from the middle distance after another mistake from the guests. After the re-start, the game continued on eye-level. But, each goalie – Leland Irving as well as Dan Bakala - allowed no goal from several shots. Jamie Fraser has finally scored the first goal for Villach from the blue line in minute 52. But, the Foxes defended their lead until the end and have even added the 3:1: Bernard send the puck into the empty net. HCB Südtirol Alperia earned their first win after seven straight defeats.
