24 hours after the win in Graz, Asiago played in the STEFFL Arena. However, the spusu Vienna Capitals had the first opportunities and Jeremy Gregoire opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Then it went blow by blow, Radek Prokes and Nikolaus Hartl made it 3:0 shortly after. The Italians got to the scoreboard through Finoro, but before the first intermission Finkelstein restored the three-goal lead: after a fantastic pass from Max Zimmer, the newcomer scored his first goal in the Caps jersey. In the middle period, the home team continued to act confidently and hardly allowed any scoring chances, it remained at 4:1 after two periods. Until ten minutes before the end, the Capitals looked like the sure winners, then the guests managed a brace through Saracino and McShane. However, the Viennese managed to hold on to the narrow lead, celebrated a successful debut in front of their home crowd after five away games and kept up with the top-6.
