Caps and Foxes sign forwards

The spusu Vienna Capitals and HCB Südtirol Alperia have announced the signings of forwards. While HCB Südtirol Alperia secured the services of Asiago goalgetter Giordano Finoro, the Caps signed 30-year-old American Peter Krieger.

Finoro moves to Bolzano

Giordano Finoro came to Italy in 2021, where he won the Alps Hockey Leauge title with Asiago. He scored the decisive goal in the final against Jesenice. Finoro also impressed in his first season in the win2day ICE Hockey League, scoring 57 points in 50 games, including 29 goals (top scorer) and 28 assists. Even in the last difficult season for Asiago, he remained a threat in front of goal with 15 goals and 11 assists in 47 games. He also made his debut with the Italian national team.

Caps sign US forward

The spusu Vienna Capitals complete their offense with the US-American Peter Krieger. The 30-year-old, who will play center forward, most recently played for HC Vitkovice Ridera in the Czech Extraliga. Krieger was one of the top scorers in his two seasons with the semi-finalists of the last edition of the Champions Hockey League. The two-time US college champion signed a one-year contract with the Capitals.

Peter Krieger began his career at Saint Thomas Academy. In the 2012-13 season, he played in the NAHL for the Aberdeen Wings and scored 54 points in 59 games. He then moved to the USHL with the Waterloo Black Hawks and collected 78 points in 72 games. He also played for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and later for the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he won the national college championship twice. In the 2019/20 season, Krieger moved to Europe and played for Västerviks IK in the Allsvenskan, where he scored 23 points in 53 games. During the coronavirus pandemic, he returned to North America and played for the Indy Fuel in the ECHL and the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League. he returned to Europe in 2021-22 and became HKM Zvolen's top scorer in the Slovakian league with 50 points in 52 games. Since the 2022-23 season, Krieger has been playing in the Czech Extraliga for HC Vitkovice Ridera, where he scored 34 points in 46 games and became his team's fourth-best scorer. The following season, he scored 22 points and led his team to the semi-finals of the Champions Hockey League. In total, he collected 68 points in 125 games for Vitkovice and was one of the most successful players at the face-off.
