The spusu Vienna Capitals achieved the first victory of the new season. The team of Head-Coach Dave Cameron won on the road at the EC Red Bull Salzburg with 3:2 after penalty shootout. Patrick Peter (26. Min.) and Ty Loney (33., PP1) put Vienna in the lead at the ice bulls. After two goals from Paul Huber and Alexander Pallestrang in the final period, the decision was only made in the penalty shootout, in which Loney scored the only goal and Vienna's only 18-year-old goalie youngster Sebastian Wraneschitz recorded the victory.

Dave Cameron, head coach of spusu Vienna Capitals: "Of course it is always nice when you win a game. But in the pre-season it's primarily about improving from game to game. That was the case today. My team played much more structured than on Thursday against Bratislava. My boys were more relaxed with the puck. But typically for Pre-Season-Games some sloppiness crept in again and again. Both teams used some young guns. Compared to the defeat against Bratislava today's performance was more satisfying. But there is still a lot to improve".

KAC also wins second preparation game
The EC-KAC also celebrated a complete success against the second Slovenian opponent within a few days. Klagenfurt won against HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana 4:2.

Also in the second home game of the EC-KAC a success was achieved over a Slovenian team from the Alps Hockey League. Anze Ropret still took the lead for the guests in a superior number, but Stefan Geier promptly had the right answer at hand. Once again Ropret scored the lead for Ljubljana. But Thomas Koch was able to equalize in the starting third. From that point on, the home team took control. Koch put the KAC in the lead for the first time in the middle third and Nick Petersen made the decision in the final section.
