spusu Vienna Capitals beat Fehervar AV19, extended their lead in the Pick Round and have successfully qualified for the Champions Hockey League. Besides, EC-KAC won the persecutor-clash in Graz and EC Red Bull Salzburg was successful in Bozen. Dornbirn Bulldogs and EC Panaceo VSV earned wins in the Qualification Round.

EC-KAC won the persecutor-clash in Graz 1:0 after Overtime. The goalies Simon Rönning (29 saves) and Lars Haugen (42 saves) have been on fire and allowed on goals for nearly 65 minutes. In the final minute of the Overtime, Andrew Kozek has finally potted the Game Winner for the „Red Jackets“ and fixed Klagenfurt‘s first season-victory against the Styrians.

Sun, 03.03.2019: HCB Südtirol Alperia – EC Red Bull Salzburg 3:4 (2:0, 0:3, 1:1)
Referees: PIRAGIC, TRILAR; spectators: 2.790
HCB Südtirol Alperia played a strong first period and got a 2:0-lead thanks goals from Nordlund and Brace, who finished a nice combination in a Power Play from a short distance. Period 2 started perfect for the guests from Salzburg: Duncan netted the 1:2 out of a counter after just 18 seconds. The Italians tried to respond quickly, but without success. This was punished by the Austrians: Trattnig per Onetimer, Hughes and Gazley (rebound) gave their team a 4:2-lead. The Foxes were applying pressure on their opponent in the final minutes of the game, but the Foxes could beat Salzburg goalie Michalek just once: Brace netted the final 3:4. EC Red Bull Salzburg took three points fom Bozen and moved up to place 4 in the ranking as well.

Dornbirn Bulldogs won in Linz 4:3/OT and stayed in the Playoff race. Rutkowski gave the Black Wings a 1:0-lead. The Steel Citizens tried to extend their lead, but without success. The Upper Austrians couldn‘t score from a 4-minute Power Play in the middle of the game as well, O’Donnell has even potted the 1:1 shorthanded on the other side (31.). But, Rutkowski gave the hosts the lead again just minutes later – 2:1. Period 3 started perfect for the Black Wings too: Kearns netted the 3:1 in a Power Play. Then, the Bulldogs showed character: Pulli with a big shot and Timmins, who poked the puck in, brought the game into an Overtime, where Trotter potted the Game Winner for the Vorarlberger.

EC Panaceo VSV beat HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ 3:1. The Sharks had the better start, Koudelka gave the guests a 1:0-lead (8.) This was a wake-up-call for the Eagles. But, Innsbruck stayed dangerous too: Boivin hit the post (13.). On the other side, Eriksson poked the puck in for the 1:1. The goalies – Bakala and Gracnar – allowed no goals in period 2. The last period started perfect for Villach: Down finished a diagonal-pass from Szabad – 2:1. The Carinthians were the chiefs on the ice now and added the 3:1 netted by Eriksson into the empty net. Both teams have no chance to reach the Playoffs 2019.

spusu Vienna Capitals had more from the game, but Csanad Erdely with a shot from the middle distance (20.) and Tamas Sarpatki, who surprised Lamoureux with a shot from the distance after just 35 seconds in period 2 gave Fehervar AV19 a 2:0-lead in Vienna. The Austrians responded applying heavy pressure on their opponent and turned the game with six goals from Schneider (shot from the distance), Olden (big shot), DeSousa (rebound), again Olden (rebound), DeSousa (empy net) and again Schneider (from a sharp angel) - 6:2. The Vienna Capitals extended their lead in the Pick Round with this victory and have successfully qualified for the Champions Hockey League season 2019/20 as well.
