There are two absolute top games in the win2day ICE Hockey League on Friday. In the 344th Carinthian derby, the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and EC-KAC face each other. The first duel of the season was won by the KAC in the shootout. In addition, league leader HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie will duel with defending champion EC Red Bull Salzburg. With four defeats in a row, the Red Bulls currently have the longest losing streak in over two years. The "Sharks", on the other hand, celebrated eight wins from the past nine games. Already for the third time this season Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg face each other. The first two duels were a clear affair for the Hungarians (4:0, 5:2). The current form also speaks for Fehérvár, which lost last Sunday for the first time after four wins in a row before. The Pioneers, on the other hand, surprisingly ended a losing streak that had lasted since October 26th and seven games against Salzburg (2:1/SO) on Tuesday. In the standings, the Vorarlberg team remains at the bottom of the table. They are seven points behind twelfth-placed Asiago. A direct duel for the pre-playoff places will take place on Friday between the HK SZ Olimpija and the HC Pustertal Wölfe. The Slovenians currently hold the last pre-playoff spot as tenth in the table. Right behind them and with only two points less on their account follows the HC Pustertal Wölfe, who have a new Head Coach since Thursday. Finnish Tomek Valtonen replaced interim coach Phil Horsky, who as agreed with the club, moves back to the position of the assistant. Valtonen was head coach of Dukla Michalovce in Slovakia the past two seasons. So far this season, Pustertal has clearly won both duels with Olimpija (4:2, 7:0). With one win from the past six games, the South Tyroleans are currently not in form. But Ljubljana is not brimming with confidence either, with two wins from the past five encounters.

On October 30th, the 99ers celebrated a narrow 2:1 away win in Feldkirch. They scored both goals in the middle period after the Pioneers took the lead early in the game.
