Villach edge FTC-Telekom in thriller
The matchup between EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and FTC-Telekom had everything a hockey fan could ask for. Villach came out flying, as 16-year-old sensation Paul Sintschnig opened the scoring, followed by goals from Thomas Vallant and Nikita Scherbak to make it 3:0. But the Hungarians refused to quit. Only eleven seconds later, Paavo Tyni put FTC on the board, and in the second period, two goals from András Mihalik and one from Adam Kestila turned the game around. FTC held the lead until the dying seconds, when Kevin Hancock tied the game with just one second left on the clock. In overtime, Adam Helewka scored the game-winner, sending the Villach fans into celebration. The win allows VSV to hold their ground in the Top-6 and fend off FTC’s push for a playoff spot.

KAC continue winning streak in Graz
EC-KAC extended their winning streak to five games with a hard-fought overtime win on the road against the Moser Medical Graz99ers. The home team started better, taking the lead through Chris Collins on the powerplay. Mathias From quickly equalized, but Nick Swaney restored Graz’s lead before the end of the opening frame. KAC battled back in the third, with Simeon Schwinger forcing overtime twelve minutes from time. In the extra period, captain Nick Mursak netted the winner just 19 seconds before a potential shootout. The Red Jackets are now within two points of the Top-6, having played fewer games than most rivals.

Salzburg defeat Innsbruck
EC Red Bull Salzburg returned to winning ways with a 4:2 home victory over HC TIWAG Innsbruck. Lucas Thaler opened the scoring early in the first period, but Jan Lattner equalized midway through the game. Mario Huber restored the Red Bulls’ lead before Steve Owre tied it once more early in the third. In the final minutes, Peter Schneider and Dennis Robertson sealed the deal for Salzburg, marking their first regulation win in six league games.

Olimpija remain in control
HK Olimpija Ljubljana continued their strong run at the top of the standings with a 4:1 road win over Pioneers Vorarlberg. The Dragons struck early, as Anze Crnovic and Nick Halbert gave them a two-goal cushion inside the opening 14 minutes. Ethen Florchuk pulled one back for the hosts, but Nicolai Meyer and Bine Masic finished the job in the third period. Olimpija remain one point clear at the top, while the Pioneers stay second-to-last.

Bowlby’s four-goal night lifts Pustertal
HC Pustertal regained second place with a 4:1 home win over Steinbach Black Wings Linz. American forward Henry Bowlby was the hero of the night, scoring all four goals for the Wolves. Two quick strikes in the first period gave Pustertal control, but Linz battled hard and cut the deficit to 1:2 with 90 seconds left through Sean Collins. With the visitors pushing for the equalizer, Bowlby capitalized twice more in the final minute to complete his four-goal performance. Pustertal remain just one point behind league leaders Olimpija, with one game in hand.
