Carl Neill strengthens Ljubljana

Last year's quarterfinalist HK SZ Olimpija has strengthened for its second season in the win2day ICE Hockey League with Carl Neill, after the defender last played for the Kölner Haie in the DEL. Further, HK SŽ Olimpija have extended the contract of Aljoša Crnovič.

The now 25-year-old first drew attention in the Junior League QMJHL in Sherbrooke Phoenix Jersey before being drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 2015. He later played three seasons in the USports League, then heading to Europe for the first time playing with the Aalborg Pirates (3G|24A) in Denmark. Neill started last season with Laval Rocket in the AHL, and also with its farm team Trois-Rivieres Lions in the ECHL before joining the Kölner Haie for four games in the league’s finish.

Crnovic stays in Ljubljana
HK SŽ Olimpija have extended the contract of Aljoša Crnovič. The 23-year-old defender came to Ljubljana from Jesenice in November and collected nine points (1G, 8A) in 34 games. Crnovič was also part of the Slovenian national team that secured promotion to the top division.

Crnovič played in his youth in Bled and Jesenice, and later he had 137 games for the Steelers in the Alps Hockey League. In November 2021, the defender moved to Olimpija in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The 23-year-old scored nine points in 34 games, his only goal coming in a 3:0 away win in Bruneck at the end of January. Crnovič won the Slovenian championship with Ljubljana and was promoted to the top division with the national team.
