The 28-year-old forward, who was born in Richmond Hill (Ontario), will play his fourth season in the white and red jersey and will participate in the Champions Hockey League for the second time after 2018. The 2020/21 season was Catenacci's best since his transfer to the Valley City and also his move to the professional ranks, with 35 points (20 goals and 15 assists).

Catenacci began his career in the OHL in 2009, where he spent four years under contract with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Owen Sound Attack, amassing a total of 267 points in 288 matches. In 2011, he was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round as the 77th selection and then moved to the AHL to the Rochester Americans, with whom he participated in the Spengler Cup in 2013/14. In the 2015/16 season he played for the first time in the NHL with the Sabres, making eleven appearances, and last year he completed another in the jersey of the New York Rangers. However, he again played the majority of the season in the American Hockey League with the Hartford Wolf Pack. The adventure with Bolzano is his first experience in Europe.
