League newcomer HK RST Pellet Celje was in action in the Continental Cup last week. With one win and two losses, the Slovenians finished in third place and thus missed advancing to the third round. In the tournament opener, Celje clearly defeated Liege Bulldogs 9:3, after which they were defeated by Brasov 2:4 and Zemgale 1:4. In the Alps Hockey League, the bottom in the table is in action on Tuesday against last season´s finalist S.G. Cortina Hafro. Just two days later, they will face Fassa again at home. Cortina is seventh in the table with thirteen points. Last Thursday they prevailed 2:0 in Gherdeina, celebrating their first away win and shutout success this season. Moreover, it was their first win after two losses in a row before. Celje has won two of four home games so far.

With 22 points, defending champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is currently in second place in the standings, two points behind league leader EK Die Zeller Eisbären. On Saturday, the Slovenians celebrated a 5:3 away win at the Steel Wings Linz AG. The EC-KAC Future Team lost the last two games and is in thirteenth place in the table with nine points. On the side of Jesenice, which has only lost two AHL games to Klagenfurt so far, Zan Jezovsek is already back in top form. Last season's league top goal scorer has scored in all nine games so far this season and is third in the top scorer charts with 16 points (9G | 7A). On the Future Team side, 19-year-old Slovenian Anze Siftar is the top scorer with eight points.

After a bad start to the season, with four losses from the first four games, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors have recently found back on track. Of the past four games, last season's semifinalist won three games. The EC Bregenzerwald won only one of the last four encounters, but picked up at least one point in three games. Away from home, the Vorarlberg team is still waiting for its first win of the season. In the standings, the ECB is still in the strong fifth place with 16 points. The Young Bulls have nine points and are twelfth in the table. The two teams faced each other earlier this season in the season opener. The ECB won with 3:1. Estonian-born Daniil Kulintsev scored a brace. Overall, the 21-year-old defender has scored three goals and six assists in his first season with Bregenzerwald.
