Cepon and Deutsch stay in Zagreb

KHL Medvescak Zagreb has extended the contracts with the young defensemen Adam Deutsch and Mark Cepon. Plus: Transfer news from Linz, Villach and Vienna.

The youngsters Adam Deutsch (SWE/CRO) and Mark Cepon (SLO/CRO) will continue to defend for KHL Medvescak Zagreb 2018/19 as well.  23-year old Deutsch rejoined KHL Medveščak Zagreb in autumn 2017 and scored eight points (2G/6A) out of 33 games past season. Prior, Adam Deutsch has already defended for the Bears in the KHL in the 2015/16-season, potting his first goal too. Cepon arrived in Zagreb at the beginning of the last season. The 20-year old defenseman had four points (1G/3A) out 59 Erste Bank Eishockey League-games last season. Prior, Cepon has already played for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in Austrias highest League.

The Vienna Capitals have extended the contract with defenseman Philippe Lakos. The 37-year old Austrian will start into his 16th season with the Caps 2018/19. Lakos is the only player, who has earned both titles (2005, 2017) with the Capitals.

Youngster Felix Maxa stays in Villach. The 20-year old forward went from Vienna to the Drau City during the 2017/18-season. Past season, Felix Maxa played 26 games for the Eagles and scored seven points (1G/6A). Maxa started his hockey-career in Vienna and has won the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga with the Capitals 2017.

Canadian Bracken Kearns is the last addition for the roster of EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz for the upcoming season. The 37-year old power-forward played 753 games in the American Hockey League and 42 matches in the National Hockey League during the past 13 years. Kearns has already collected experience from playing in Europe as well, he went for goals and points for the Espoo Blues in Finland 2014/15. Kearns was a key-player for the Binghamton Devils in the AHL 2017/18, scoring 43 points (14G/29A) out of 67 games.
