On Friday evening (6.30 pm), the Graz99ers will face the Steinbach Black Wings Linz at the Merkur Eisarena. The Graz side, currently seventh in the table, have recently celebrated three consecutive wins. The visitors from Linz are currently second in the table and have been in strong form so far. On Wednesday, they secured a 4–1 home win over Vienna. The first meeting between the two sides this season ended in a narrow 3–2 victory for Linz after a penalty shoot-out. Statistically, both teams are very closely matched in terms of power play and penalty killing.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck host EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Tyroleans suffered a heavy defeat in Bolzano yesterday. For Salzburg, this is their second match under the guidance of the new coaching staff led by Teemu Levijoki, following a narrow victory over Ljubljana on Wednesday. Both teams are closely matched in the table and are battling to stay in touch with the top six.

Also at 7.15 pm, Olimpija Ljubljana face Hydro Fehérvár AV19. Ljubljana, currently fourth in the table, suffered a defeat in Salzburg following a winning streak and failed to score for the first time this season. The Hungarians are going through a difficult spell, with just one win from their last seven matches, and are already under pressure.

At 7.30 pm, the Pioneers Vorarlberg will take on the current league leaders, HCB Südtirol Alperia. The Pioneers put up a strong fight for much of Wednesday’s match in Bruneck, but ultimately had to admit defeat 1–3, suffering yet another loss. The upcoming task won’t be any easier either: the Bolzano side are in excellent form and top the table.

Friday’s action concludes at 7.45 pm with the match between Milano Hockey Club and EC-KAC. The league newcomers from Milan got off to a strong start to the season but have lost ground in recent weeks and currently sit in eighth place. Klagenfurt, currently third in the table, boosted their confidence with a win against Fehérvár and are keen to improve their away record.

One match on Saturday
On Saturday (6.30 pm), the day’s only match will take place between FTC-Telekom and HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. Whilst the Hungarians have won their last three home matches, the Pustertal side arrive on the back of two victories and have now climbed into the top six.
