CHL: KAC takes lead in standings

The EC-KAC celebrated a 4:0 success against Frisk Asker and took the lead in group A of Champions Hockey League. The spusu Vienna Capitals had to take 0:4 defeat against the Adler Mannheim. Five further teams of Erste Bank Eishockey League concluded preseason on Sunday.

Frisk Asker – EC KAC 0:4 (0:2, 0:1, 0:1)
The EC-KAC booked a good start into the game. After five minutes Marco Richter opened the scoring and created the 1:0 after assist of Nic Petersen. The Carinthians kept the pressure high, created a couple of chances and Matthew Neal scored the 2:0. After that the KAC came in difficulties. The champion of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga acted a long time in numerous disadvantage – two minutes even three against five. But the KAC did a good job in penaltykilling and kept the zero. Also in the beginning of the second period the KAC had four more minutes shorthanded and kept on killing the powerplay. The KAC acted much more efficient in their powerplay – Marco Richter scored the 3:0 in powerplay. The Carinthians had full control over the game again. In the final period Andrew Kozek scored the 4:0 in 5 versus 3 powerplay.

Adler Mannheim – Vienna Capitals: 4;0 (1:0, 1:0, 2:0)
The spusu Vienna Capitals had to take a 0:4 defeat against the Adler Mannheim. The DEL-Champion is still unbeaten in the Champions Hockey League and booked the ticket for the CHL-Playoffs. The Caps still have three points after four games.

Afer four minutes the Adler Mannheim opened the scoring. Winged by the goal, the DEL Champion put a lot of pressure onto the Caps. But the Caps didn’t allow more goals in the starting period. The eagles kept the pressure high in the second period and got rewarded. Brent Raedeke scored the 2:0. The Caps did a good job in penalty killing but also didn’t manage score in their own powerplays. In equal strengths the Germans controlled the game. Also in the final period Mannheim striked early – Goc increased to 3:0. Matthias Plachta finally created the result of 4:0 with his goal at the end.

Five teams conclude preseason
The Preseason for the season 19/20 is in the books. Fehervar AV19, EC Red Bull Salzburg and the HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated wins. The Liwest Black Wings Linz and the HC TWK Innsbruck had to take defeats at the end of the preseason.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 –HK Nitra 3:1 (0:0, 3:0, 0:1)
Fehervar AV 19 won the Ocskay Gábor memorial tournament. In the finals the Hungarians celebrated a 3:1 success against HK Nitra. After an opening period with no goals Fehervar got in swing and scored three goals in the second period. Nitra narrowed the gap in the final period, but couldn’t come back. Fehervar celebrated a 3:1 win to end the preseason.

ERC Ingolstadt – EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz 6:4 (2:2, 2:2, 2:0)
The Liwest Black Wings Linz had to take a 4:6 defeat against Ingolstadt. Ingolstadt captured the the lead four times, but the Black Wings had the right answer every single team and tied till the 4:4. In the final period Ingolstadt captured the lead again and this time the Black Wings couldn’t come back. Linz had to take a 4:6 defeat at the end of the preseason.

Straubing Tigers – HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ 6:1 (2:1, 0:0, 4:0)
The Innsbrucker Haie lost 1:6 against the Straubing Tigers. The HC TWK Innsbruck captured the early lead after a goal of Guimond. But this was the only goal of Innsbruck in this game. The Straubing Tigers took control and captured a 2:1 lead after the first 20 minutes. Both teams couldn’t score in the second period. In the final period the Tiger shifted one gear up scored four more goals and booked a clear 6:1 success.

HCB Südtirol Alperia – Rittner Buam 5:2 (2:0, 2:2, 1:0)
The HCB Südtirol Alperia clinched the Alperia Cup trophy for the fourth time. Bolzano captured a 2:0 lead in the first period. But the Rittner Buam came back strong in the second and tied the game. Still in the second Bolzano scored two more goals and created a 4:2 lead after 40 minutes. In the final period the foxes created the result of 5:2 and celebrated a win in their last preseason game.

EC Bad Tölz - EC Red Bull Salzburg 2:6 (0:3, 0:2, 2:1)
The EC Red Bull Salzburg won the last preaseason game against EC Bad Tölz 6:2. The Red Bulls dominated the DEL2-mostly all the time. Salzburg scored three goals in the first period and added another two in the second. In the final period Bad Tölz reared up and scored two goals but couldn’t endanger the win of Salzburg.
