The EC-KAC has signed goalkeeper Christian Engstrand for the coming weeks. This new signing is intended to give the ailing Sebastian Dahm the necessary time to regain full fitness and also relieve Florian Vorauer in the current intensive game rhythm with three games per week. The agreement with the Swedish goalkeeper is valid from Sunday this week and extends until October 31.

Christian Engstrand was trained at Linköping HC in his hometown and also represented his home club in Sweden's top division until 2014. Before and after an engagement in the win2day ICE Hockey League with Fehérvár AV19 (26 appearances in the second half of the 2014/15 season), the goalie was under contract with first (Mora) and second league clubs (AIK, Mora, Kristianstad, Vita Hästen) in his country of origin, gaining additional experience abroad in the highest divisions of Finland (Espoo Blues, 2015/16) and Slovakia (HC Nové Zámky, 2021/22).

In the ICE, the now 34-year-old gained notoriety primarily through his time with the Moser Medical Graz99ers: between December 2021 and March 2023, Christian Engstrand was under contract with the Styrians, in 65 ICE appearances he recorded a strong goals against average (GAA) of 2.38 and saved 91.96 percent of the shots on goal fired at him.
