C.J. Stretch moves to Vienna | Belorussian team player for VSV

Runner-Up spusu Vienna Capitals signed C.J. Stretch from league rival HC Orli Znojmo. After playing against each other in last season’s quarterfinal, the 29-year-old American moved to Vienna for his fifth season in Europe. Further, the EC Panaceo VSV tabbed Belorussian team player Danila Karaban for the next season.

The spusu Vienna Capitals snagged C.J. Stretch from league rival HC Orli Znojmo. With 55 points past season, the 29-year-old American was Czech side third-best player according to points. In last year’s quarterfinal series against Vienna, Stretch gained four points. The Center will play his fifth season in Europa, starting his career 2015-16 at Starbulls Rosenheim in Germanys second division. After that he moved to Löwen Frankfurt for two more years. Each season he had more than 65 points. 

„During his past four years in Europe, C.J. did not have any problems of adjustment and helped each team immediately with a lot of goals and assists. With his performance past season – especially in the games against us – he proved being a reliable scorer. I am very happy, that he will be part of our team next season and sure, that he will have another great season in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga”, Dave Cameron, head coach of Vienna, said.

“From my point of view, I have a good feeling for strategy, and I am smart. I will go about on the offensive end, as well as on the defensive end. It is very important for me, to be self-confident and positive”, C.J. Stretch mentioned. 

EC Panaceo VSV adds Belorussian team player
The EC Panaceo VSV added Danila Karaban to its roster for the upcoming season. With 27 games for Belarus Ice Hockey Federation, the 22-year-old forward gained a lot of experience in his short career. Further, he showed up 48 times for Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. The right-handed forward can be appointed as center or left-wing. Karaban signed a one-year contract including a one-month try-out with an exit clause for Villach. 

“Danila Karaban is a young, talented player with great skating skills. Further, he has a hard worker and will give us more speed in our game. Moreover, he can be used in different positions on powerplay and in the PK too. I am very positive, that he will make another step forward during the next season”, Jyrki Aho, VSV’s head coach said. 

“I am very happy and proud to play for a club with a huge tradition. I heard a lot about crazy fans and the well-organized club and league. I am looking forward to work with an KHL-experienced headcoach like Jyrki Aho and will give the maximum to reach our team’s goal”, Danila Karaban referred about his signing.
