After a commanding 5:1 opening win against Gherdeina, the Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel won clearly 8:1 at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors on Thursday. With six points and a goal difference of +11, the Tyroleans are at the top of the table. Norwegian Sebastian Christiansen was the player of the match for the Juniors. The 21-year-old new signing scored a hat-trick and was the only player to score more than one goal. The KEC once again proved to be very stable in defense. Goalkeeper Alexander Schmidt only had to concede the only goal five seconds before the end of the game. The visitors were already 3:0 ahead after the first period, and the “Eagles” even added four goals in the second before increasing their lead to 8:0 four minutes before the end of the game. It was the Juniors' second defeat in their third game of the season and their first in regulation time.

Wins for last year's finalists Ritten and Cortina
Defending champion Rittner Buam SkyAlps picked up their first win in their second game of the season. The South Tyroleans won the top match at home against EK Die Zeller Eisbären 3:1. Marco Insam put the home side ahead in the 5th minute. It then took until the 46th minute for Zell am See to equalize through Alexander Lahoda. Ritten took the lead again just 53 seconds later and the “Buam” scored the final goal two minutes before the end of the game. It was Zell am See's first defeat in the second game of the season.

S.G. Cortina Hafro also conceded a defeat at the start and now responded with a win. At HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, the current runner-up clearly got the upper hand with 5:1. The Italians were 2:1 ahead after the first period, before Marco Sanna scored once in both the second and third periods to increase Cortina's lead to 4:1. The final goal was scored by Mikael Saha in the 54th minute. The Finn also scored a brace.

Newcomer Sisak picks up a point in Jesenice
League newcomer KHL Sisak promptly picked up a point in their first Alps Hockey League game. The Croatians narrowly lost 2:3/OT at SIJ Acroni Jesenice, the 2023 AHL champions. New signing Olli Valtola scored the decisive goal for the Slovenians in overtime (65.). Patrik Dobric scored Sisak's first goal in the Alps Hockey League in the 20th minute in the powerplay. Dominic Canic also scored for the Croatians to tie the game at 2:2 in the 49th minute, also in the power play.

The HC Meran/o Pircher celebrated a narrow away win after overtime at the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. Although the home side were already 3:0 ahead after 31 minutes, a double strike within three minutes at the end of the second period allowed Meran to close the gap to 2:3. The “Eagles” finally equalized just 24 seconds before the end of the third period. Chad Pietroniro scored in a double powerplay situation to make it 3:3, and in overtime it was Massimo Pietroniro who turned the game completely in Merano's favor. It was the South Tyroleans' second OT win of the season. Unterland conceded their second defeat.
