Clear home wins for Zell am See and Asiago

In the Alps Hockey League, EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HC Migross Asiago celebrated convincing home victories on Saturday. Master Round leaders Zell am See defeated KHL Sisak 4–0 in front of more than 2,000 fans and now hold an eight-point lead over their closest challengers, Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Asiago earned a 5–3 win over the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan in front of nearly 1,900 spectators and moved up to third place in the standings. Player of the Game was Ryan Valentini, who recorded a hat trick within ten minutes.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären delivered a dominant home performance against KHL Sisak, extending their lead over second-placed Red Bull Hockey Juniors to eight points. With this defeat, Sisak dropped to fourth place. In front of more than 2,000 fans, it took until the 26th minute for Max Wilfan to give the hosts the lead, before Maximilian Egger made it 2–0 shortly before the end of the period. The Pinzgau team also scored twice in the final period: Wilfan found the net again in the 46th minute, and Christian Jennes sealed the final score on the power play in the 49th minute. Goaltender Alois Schultes stopped all 21 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season. It was Zell am See’s sixth win in their sixth Master Round game, while Sisak suffered their fourth loss in five games.

Asiago too strong for Vipiteno
In the second game of the day, HC Migross Asiago claimed a comfortable 5–3 home win over the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan in front of nearly 1,900 spectators, moving up to third place in the standings and now holding a three-point advantage over fourth-placed Sisak. Sterzing remain at the bottom of the table with three points. Player of the Game was Ryan Valentini, who scored a perfect hat trick and added two assists. All three of his goals came between the 22nd and 32nd minute. At that point, Asiago were already leading 4–0, but the Broncos struck back with two quick goals between the 33rd and 34th minute to cut the deficit to 2–4. However, just three seconds before the end of the second period, the hosts restored a three-goal advantage. In the final period, Sterzing reduced the score to 3–5 five minutes before the end, but Asiago held firm and secured the home victory.
