The expert journalists of the Alps Hockey League voted Colin Furlong of HC Pustertal Wölfe to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2019/20 regular season. For the first time in history a goalkeeper has received the individual trophy, which has been awarded for the fourth time. In 39 games the 27-year-old Canadian had a save percentage of 93,5%.

Colin Furlong from HC Pustertal was voted by the ice hockey journalists as the regular season MVP of the Alps Hockey League in the 2019/20 season and thus awarded as the most valuable player. The 27-year-old came to Bruneck from the Canadian University League ahead of last season, where he immediately became a key player and finished second in the MVP election behind Salzburg's Oliver Nordberg past year.

Furlong has played 39 games for the “wolves” this season and posted three shutouts. With a save percentage of 93.5, the 27-year-old led the goalkeeper statistics of the Alps Hockey League and also helped his team win the Master Round. Due to his achievements, the Canadian was now also the first goalkeeper to be elected MVP in the Alps Hockey League. He left Gröden forward Brad McGowan, who scored in 40 of 44 league games, and Dylan Stanley of VEU Feldkirch behind him. Furlong is the fourth MVP in the history of the Alps Hockey League after Oliver Nordberg (Salzburg, 2018/19), Anthony Bardaro (Asiago, 2017/18) and Eric Pance (Jesenice, 2016/17).
