Canadian Connor Cameron will lead KHL Medvescak Zagreb as Head Coach in their comeback-season in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The 32-year old coach from Summerside was part of the Bears coaching staff last season in KHL already, where he led the club as a head coach in four games against Lokomotiv Yaroslav, Vityaz and two times against Slovan Bratislava. Before that Cameron was an Assistant Coach throughout the whole season, where he worked with head coach Gordie Dwyer. They were part of the same coaching staff in Charlottetown Islanders and their last job together was in Swiss team Ambri-Piotta at the end of last season. „Connor is a great young coach who proved last year he is ready to take the next step in his career. We know what we are getting from him in regards to the work ethic and character he possesses and we also agree on the type of style we want to play to be successful.  We are really excited to have him back leading us to the EBEL“, Medvescak’s Sports Director Aaron Fox said.

Cameron ended his playing career in 2010 and dedicated himself to the coaching job. New coach is ninth name added to the roster after eight players signed for Medvescak or extended their contracts.

Dylan Beston will be Cameron's assistant coach. This will be his third season in the club after Dylan spent first two years as a video coach and assistant coach.
