Defenseman Fabian Scholz and the forwards Christoph Herzog, Andreas Schwab and Thomas Grabmayr stay at Zell am See. Allrounder Stefan Wiedmaier switches within the SKY Alps Hockey League from EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau to FBI VEU Feldkirch.

With Defenseman Fabian Scholz and the forwards Christoph Herzog, Andreas Schwab and Thomas Grabmayr four more players stay at Zell am See. Now the club has already ten players under conctract for the upcoming season, all players are from Austria. In the defense Head Coach Dieter Werfring can plan also 2017/18 with Fabian Scholz. The 27-years old Austrian is a reliable defenseman. Last season Fabian Scholz was the best Austrian scorer in his team, he made 29 points (7G/22A) from 34 SKY Alps Hockey League-games for his home-club and reached a strong Plus-Minus-statistic of +21! Besides Center Christoph Herzog, who made 2016/17 seven points (6G/1A) from 38 SKY Alps Hockey League-games, and the young forwards Thomas Grabmayr and Andras Schwab continue their career at EKZ. Markus Pöck leaves Zell am See.
 
The FBI VEU Feldkirch must plan for the 2017/18-season without defenseman Victor Lindgren, who finished his professional hockey career for health reasons and returned to Sweden. New at FBI VEU Feldkirch is Stefan Wiedmaier. The 35-years old Allrounder played already 2007/08 and from 2012 until 2014 for the VEU. The last three seasons Wiedmaier spend at EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau. With the Lions he won 2015 the Inter National League. Already 2002 he was Austrian Champion with EC VSV.   Last season Wiedmaier made 44 games for Lustenau in the SKY Alps Hockey League and scored 38 points.
