Max Coatta stays in Villach
EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV has extended the contract of American forward Max Coatta. The 31-year-old appeared in 54 games during the 2024/25 season, recording 79 hits, 29 blocked shots, and 68 puck recoveries. His expected goals rating stood at 52.4%, with a duel success rate just above 51%. Coatta played both as a winger and center and was regularly used on the penalty kill. He is entering his second season with VSV.

Scott Valentine remains with the Foxes
HCB Südtirol Alperia has also made another personnel decision: defenseman Scott Valentine will play his fourth season with the South Tyrolean team. The 34-year-old Canadian posted 6 goals and 16 assists in 2024/25 – his most productive offensive season in Bolzano so far. With a plus/minus rating of +12 in the regular season and +6 in the playoffs, he was one of the strongest defensive players on the roster. He averaged 20:07 minutes of ice time per game – without powerplay duty – and significantly reduced his penalty minutes compared to the previous season (from 62 to 18 minutes).
