Cortina, Feldkirch and Asiago celebrate clear victories

S.G. Cortina Hafro, the VEU Feldkirch, and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated clear victories on Sunday. Cortina won 5:2 against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. It was the tenth victory at the eleventh duel with Val Gardena. Feldkirch celebrated a clear 8:2 victory over the Steel Wings Linz. Dylan Stanley scored a hattrick. Asiago won in front of the home crowd as well. Against the EHC Lustenau they won with 7:3.

No chance for Val Gardena at Cortina
With the tenth victory in the eleventh duel with HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, Cortina Hafro Hockey proved once more that Val Gardena is one of her favorite opponents. This time the hosts won 5:2 and moved up to fifth place in the league table. Val Gardena takes the ninth place after this defeat. The decision was already made after 40 minutes. Because after two periods Cortina already led 4:0. At the beginning of the final period, the guests were able to shorten to 1:4, but Cortina remained to be the better team and won it in the end deservedly.

Stanley scored a hattrick at clear victory of Feldkirch
More than 1000 spectators celebrated a clear 8:2 home victory of the VEU Feldkirch over the Steel Wings Linz. Man of the match was Dylan Stanley. The 35-year-old Canadian scored three goals and made two more assists. For Feldkirch it is already the third victory in series, which is why they are now in in sixth place in the league table and thus above the line. Linz remains classified at the bottom of the league table with two points. The VEU dominated the game from the start. With 18:4 shots on goal period one ended. In goals scored it was a 3:0. In the sequel the VEU remained the dominant team. Only in the second period the guests could make the game reasonably balanced. In this they also scored their two goals.

Asiago wins thanks to a great second period
With a clear 7:3 Asiago defeated the EHC Lustenau in front of the home crowd. Especially in the second period the Italians left their mark on the game. After a goalless opening frame they won this clear with 5:1. In the final period the guests from Austria could put up some resistance and could finish it, like the opening period, with a draw (2:2). After a tight 3:4 home defeat on Saturday against HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, Asiago ended the weekend with a win. In the league table they occupy the seventh place. Lustenau, however, could win neither of the two games of the weekend. On Saturday they lost 3:2 to the Fassa Falcons. The EHC is currently ranked 14th in the league table.
