An intensive preseason is coming up in the Alps Hockey League. The first of numerous test matches was played between S.G.Cortina Hafro and HC Gherdeina with the better end for the hosts from Cortina. Cortina had the game under control in the first 30 minutes and was already leading 4:1 at that point, but from the middle of the match the Furie became more and more courageous and put the home side under pressure. The reward was the worth seeing goal of Matteo Luisetti at 2:4, when he took a pass from Tobias Moroder in the slot and placed the puck under the crossbar. Shortly afterwards, Ben Linder was in the right place after a pass from Julian Senoner and slid into the empty net to make it 3:4. Shortly before the siren, Leo Messner even had the chance to equalize the game with a penalty. But he got stuck - just like Yuri Cristellon in the third period with his attempt - by Sandro Lancedelli. The HCG then had more chances, but failed to capitalize on them. Cortina punished this and made everything clear with the 5:3 shortly before the end.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice had to accept a 0:2 defeat against ICE representative HC Pustertal in their first test match on Friday. Especially towards the end of the game the Slovenians found some chances, but could not overcome the strong keeper of the Wolves. Next week on Friday Jesenice plays against MAC Budapest.
