After his active hockey career, Dan Ceman began his coaching career with the Dundee Stars in the British Ice Hockey Elite League. With the start of the 2013/14 season, the Canadian coached the Danish first division team SønderjyskE for five years, winning the national title twice. In the last two seasons, he was with HC Banska Bystrica in the Slovak Tipsport Extraliga. In his very first year (18/19) he won the title, in the season that was cancelled due to the Corona pandemic Bystrica was also in the first position in the table. This season, EC GRAND Immo VSV signed him and he got six victories in 16 games with the Eagles. On 5 December, Villach announced the parting of ways with Ceman and brought Rob Daum to Villach for a second term. Now the 47-year-old Ceman is on the coaching bench at the league rivals in Linz.

"In Dan we have found a good coach who can already look back on many successes in Europe. I expect him to be able to set important impulses with his positive attitude in order to return to victory lane with the team," said Gregor Baumgartner, manager of the Steinbach Black Wings 1992.
