Dario Winkler joins Vienna on loan | Linz takes part in Motor Cup 2019

Dario Winkler joined the spusu Vienna Capitals on loan. He arrived from EC Red Bull Salzburg, where he collected twelve points past season. In addition, the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz participates in this year’s Motor Cup at Budweis (CZE). The Upper Austrians have two games ahead, taking on KHL side HK Amur Khabarovsk on Tuesday and host HC Motor České Budějovice on Wednesday. Both games start at 5.30 pm.

Dario Winkler moves to Vienna on loan
The spusu Vienna Capitals took Dario Winkler Ex-Salzburg on loan. At the age of 14 Winkler joined the Red Bull Academy. Back in 2014-15 he showed up for the first time in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. After one season in the Western Hockey League, playing for Brandon Wheat Kings and Everett Silvertips, he came back to Austria and continued with Salzburg. He played in Alps Hockey League and Erste Bank Eishockey Liga too, posting twelve points (4G | 8A) past season for the Red Bulls. “I am very proud to have the opportunity playing in Vienna. I am full of beans and look forward to the first game”, Winkler said.

Linz continues preseason at Budweis
While all other Erste Bank Eishockey Liga teams did not play friendlies till Thursday or prepare for opening the Champions Hockey League campaign, the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz head into two more scrimmages at Motor Cup 2019 in Budweis, Czech Republic. At Budweis, Mario Altmann returns in Linz's line-up after his injury. 
After the shutout loss on Friday at DEL side Augsburg Panther, the Austrians take on HK Amur Khabarovsk on Tuesday. The KHL participant finished past season 23rd, gaining overall 20 victories. In the current preseason the Russian side played six friendlies, taking three wins, while the Upper Austrians got one victory out of three games so far. The Black Wings beat HC Motor České Budějovice 4:1 in the up to now lone home preseason game. A shorthander of new arrival Justin Florek got the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga quarterfinalist, which take on the Czech side again, on winning ways. Tournament host Budějovice won domestic second division past season but lost the qualification games for Extraliga and remains in the second league. Both teams met each other in the past preseason too, with the home team taking one win each.
