David Maier stays with EC-KAC

The 25-year-old David Maier will continue to play for his home club EC-KAC. In 227 league games for the KAC so far, the 25-year-old defenseman has scored 51 points. Moreover, Olimpija Ljubljana has extended the contract with 21-year-old goalkeeper Luka Kolin.

The EC-KAC can continue to count on David Maier: The homegrown player waived an opt-out option, meaning his contract is also valid for the 2025/26 season. Maier, who returned to Klagenfurt in 2020 after stints in Sweden and Canada, has been part of the KAC regular line-up since 2022. In 227 league games, the 25-year-old defender collected 51 points. Last season, he was on the ice the second most often of all KAC players with over 1,280 minutes of action. Maier is also a permanent fixture in the Austrian national team - he has already played 83 international games and participated in four consecutive senior world championships.

Ljubljana extends contract with young goalkeeper
Moreover, Olimpija Ljubljana has extended the contract with 21-year-old goalkeeper Luka Kolin. The Slovenian has made a total of 28 appearances in the league over the past four seasons.
