HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice have signed experienced scorer David Rodman (SLO). EC-KAC II have welcomed the Austrians Benjamin Petrik (F) and Mario Petrovitz (D). Besides, US-forward Brandon McNally will start his europe-career in Sterzing and EC Bregenzerwald have added two youngsters to their team. Plus: Contract extensions in Fassa and Milano.
David Rodman returns to Jesenice
After two years in Grenoble (FRA), reliable (goal-)scorer David Rodman returns to his home-club HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The 34-year old forward has already played four Alps Hockey League-games for the „Red Steelers“ 2016/17, scoring three points (1G/2A). The Slovenian will add much experience to the team, he went for goals and points for clubs in Austria (Linz, Vienna, Graz), Sweden (Oskarshamn), Germany (Bietigheim Steelers and Dresdner Eislöwen), France (Grenoble), overseas (Val-d’Or Foreus) or in his home-country Slovenia (Jesenice). With the club from the Steel City, Rodman has already earned three Slovenian titles (2005, 2006 and 2009). Everywhere, David Rodman has been a key-player and a reliable scorer as well. Last season, the 34-year old forward appeared in 55 games for Grenoble in France and had 67 points (14G/53A). Besides he played with Team Slovenia at the Olympic games. Rodman has already started the ice-practice in Jesenice.
Petrik arrives new in Klagenfurt, Petrovitz came back
EC-KAC II added with forward Benjamin Petrik and defenseman Mario Petrovitz two Austrian players to their team. 29-year old Benjamin Petrik has spent the main part of his hockey-career with his home-club EC Panaceo VSV so far, scoring 161 points (72G/89A) out of 619 Erste Bank Eishockey League-games between 2005 and 2018 and earning one Erste Bank Eishockey League-title 2006. Besides, defender Mario Petrovitz returns from Graz to Klagenfurt. On loan, the 23-year old Austrian has already appeared in 13 Alps Hockey League-games for EC-KAC II 2016/17, scoring two Assists. Last season, the youngsters defended for his home-club, Moser Medical Graz 99ers, in the Erste Bank Eishockey League, earning three Assists out of 35 games.
US-Forward Brandon McNally starts his europe-career in Sterzing
US-Forward Brandon McNally will start his europe-career with Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 2018. During the last four seasons, the 26-year old US-American played 149 East Cost Hockey League-games, scoring 81 points (32G/49A, PIM: 435) and appeared in 63 matches in the American Hockey League, scoring 16 points (9G/7A, PIM: 46). Last season, McNally went for goals and points for the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL. He had 46 points (16G/30A) out of 76 matches and collected 219 PIM!
Contract extensions in Fassa and Milano
The youngsters Cesare Sottass and Andre Vigl will go for goals and points for HC Fassa Falcons in the upcoming season as well. Each Italian forward had one Assist for the Falcons in the Alps Hockey League past season. Besides, Davide Xamin stays in Milano! For „Rosso-Blu“, the 22-year old power-forward netted 22 points (7G/15A) out of 41 games in Italians Serie B last season.
ECB trusts in youngsters
Austrian Felix Beck will be one of the goalies of EC Bregenzerwald in the upcoming season. The 16-year old netminder guarded the net of Hohenemser SC (AUT/4) past season, earning a GAA of 2,73 out of six games. Prior, he played for the youth teams of SC Rheintal in Switzerland. Besides, 16-year old forward Fabio Marte returns after four years playing for the youth teams of SC Rheintal in Switzerland to Vorarlberg and will start into his first season with the „Wälder“ 2018/19…
