The EC Red Bull Salzburg suffered a 0:5 defeat against Bílí Tygři Liberec at the Red Bulls Salute. The Salzburger team will thus play for third place tomorrow, Sunday at 15:00. Also without a chance were the spusu Vienna Capitals. In their first test match they lost against the HC Slovan Bratislava with 2:6 despite leading twice. The Moser Medical Graz99ers won against SC Kolin and league newcomer HC Pustertal won against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice.

Salzburg without a chance against Liberec
In the opening match of the Red Bulls Salute, the EC Red Bull Salzburg suffered a 5:0 defeat against Bílí Tygři Liberec. In front of 700 spectators in Kitzbühel, the guests from the Czech Republic took the lead already in the second minute of the game. The 2:0 was scored in the 24th minute of the game and the remaining goals were all scored in the final period. The Red Bulls will play for the 3rd place tomorrow Sunday at 15:00. Their opponent will be HC Kosice. Bílí Tygři Liberec will fight for the tournament victory against Red Bull München at 19:00. Graz99ers win second test in Czech Republic
After the 4:6 defeat on Friday against HK Mountfield, the Moser Medical Graz99ers won with 4:2 against SC Kolin on Saturday. However, the hosts got the better start in the game and took the lead in the third minute of the game. The Styrians' offense didn't get going until the second period. In the 26th minute of the game, the Swedish new signing Simon Hjalmarsson scored the equalizer. After Kolin scored the lead again, the 99ers were able to turn the game around in the second period and even managed to score the final score of 4:2 in this. Hjalmarsson scored a second goal. Lukas Kainz and Clemens Krainz scored the remaining goals for Graz.

Capitals lose to Slovan Bratislava despite leading twice
Despite leading 1:0 and 2:1, the spusu Vienna Capitals lost against the HC Slovan Bratislava with 2:6 in their first preseason match. Pustertal starts preseason with victory
League newcomer HC Pustertal had a successful start into the preseason. The South Tyrolean team won with 6:3 against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice from the Alps Hockey League. In front of 650 spectators, Shane Hanna scored already in the third minute of the game to make it 1:0. Zach Budish increased the score to 2:0 in the ninth minute of the game. Hanna (2), Ikonen and Kristensen scored the remaining goals for the South Tyroleans.
