EK Zeller Eisbären – Red Bull Hockey Juniors
The EK Zeller Eisbären host the league leaders from Salzburg – the Red Bull Hockey Juniors – at the KE KELIT Arena. The derby also doubles as the “Charity Hockey Night” in support of Corin Konradsheim. Both teams have won their last four games and are in excellent form. While the reigning champions currently sit fourth in the standings, the Juniors top the league with 13 regulation-time victories. They boast the AHL’s best offense and one of its most solid defenses, led by standout Finnish players Eliseev and Juhola. The first meeting of the season ended in a clear 5–1 win for the Juniors.

EC Bregenzerwald – KHL Sisak
After a one-week break, Bregenzerwald and Sisak return to action, meeting on both Saturday and Sunday in Dornbirn. The Vorarlberg side has won seven of its last eight games and currently holds sixth place, though with fewer games played than their rivals. The Croatians, recently displaced from the top spot, have also been strong, winning six of their last eight matches. Sisak comfortably won the first encounter of the season 5–0.

Hockey Unterland Cavaliers – Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel
With five straight wins, Kitzbühel currently holds the league’s longest active winning streak and also features the best defensive record. Bottom club Unterland finally celebrated again on Thursday after five losses, winning their first game under interim coach Tuomo Harjula. In a thrilling contest, the Cavaliers overcame two two-goal deficits to defeat Gardena in overtime. Despite the win, the South Tyroleans already trail twelfth place by nine points. Kitzbühel won the first matchup 5–1.

HC Migross Asiago – HDD Jesenice
After four consecutive wins, Asiago recently suffered back-to-back narrow defeats. On Thursday, John Parco’s squad lost in overtime to Cortina despite holding a two-goal lead. Jesenice also fell that same evening, 2–3 in overtime against Sterzing, marking their third straight defeat. The Slovenians currently sit in 11th place, ten points behind fifth-placed Asiago. The first matchup ended in a close 4–3 victory for Asiago.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps – S.G. Cortina Hafro
Ritten (7th place) versus Cortina (8th) is a direct duel between table neighbors. The team from Klobenstein has dropped six of its last seven games, most recently losing 2–4 in Zell am See. Cortina, on the other hand, has shown clear improvement with three wins from its past four league outings and a strong performance in the Continental Cup. The Italians won the first season meeting in a shootout, though Ritten has emerged victorious in all of its last ten AHL home games against the blue-and-whites.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Gardena suffered an overtime defeat at the bottom club Unterland on Thursday, extending its losing streak to five – the longest current skid in the league. With the same 19 points, Sterzing sits just one place higher in ninth. The Broncos ended their own losing streak on Thursday with a win in Jesenice. Gardena took the first meeting of the season 2–1.

HC Meran/o Pircher – HC Migross Asiago
Asiago travels to Meran on Sunday for its second game within 24 hours. The Eagles have endured three straight losses and currently sit second from bottom in the standings. The two teams already met in the preseason, when Asiago came out on top with a 3–0 win.
