On Thursday and Friday 16 of the 18 teams of the Alps Hockey League are in action. With the Derby Ladino between HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the SHC Fassa Falcons one of the biggest derbies in the AHL is on the schedule. Furthermore the only two unbeaten teams the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstphan and S.G. Cortina Hafro try to continue their winning streak.

The third in the league table, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice faces the HC Pustertal Wolves. While Jesenice suffered the first defeat of the season last Saturday (3:10 at the EK Die Zeller Eisbären), Pustertal has already conceded the second defeat against EHC Lustenau (1:2). This clash is the rematch of last season's semi-final duel. The South Tyroleans won with 3:2. Pustertal won the decisive game five in overtime with a goal from Armin Hofer.

Even if Klagenfurt could not win a home game yet, they present themselves extremely successfully this season. In the league table they are in sixth place. Cortina is classified even better. HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the SHC Fassa Falcons will meet in the derby Ladino. Also in the league table it will be a neighborhood duel. Val Gardena is currently ranked 14th, while Fassa follows one place behind. Although both teams appear on equal terms this season, Gherdeina is clearly the favourite considering the direct duels. They won nine of the 10 duels with Fassa in the Alps Hockey League.

The last game of the matchday will be played on Friday. Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, champion of the season 2017/18, could not fully convince in this season so far. The Italians have only won one game after regular time. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated two wins this season. Most recently, they won at league rookie Steel Wings Linz with 7:1. In the direct comparison of both teams Asiago leads with 5:1. The last encounter, however, the young bulls could win with 7:6 in February.
