The 33rd round of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will see a direct duel for fifth place between the Dornbirn Bulldogs and EC Red Bull Salzburg, with both are tied on points. Neo-Linz coach Dan Ceman is still unbeaten against the spusu Vienna Capitals - and wants to surprise again with the bottom placed Steinbach Black Wings 1992. The other three duels will take place for the last time in the first round. The "Tiroler Derby" faces-off 8.15 pm, the duel between the iClinic Bratislava Capitals and Hydro Fehérvár AV19 will take place in Hungary as announced a couple of days ago.

Sky Sport Austria will broadcast the game between Steinbach Black Wings 1992 and spusu Vienna Capitals from 7.05 pm. The other four games will be offered via pay-per-view video stream on live.ice.hockey.

  • For organizational reasons, the venue of this game has been changed, as it will take place in Székesfehérvár.
  • The two teams meet each other for the fourth and for the time being last time this season. AVS has won all three duels with BRC so far. Only in the first duel of the season (3:2 SO) the Slovaks took a point.
  • AVS, which remains on the second place in standings, has taken only two points from the last three games. BRC recently ended its three-game losing streak on January 3rd (4-3 @BWI).
  • AVS holds 19 wins (15 times after regulation) after 31 games this season, giving them a winning percentage of 61%. In the past season, including the Intermediate Round (50 games), the total was 22 wins for the whole campaign. AVS had its best season in terms of regular season wins in 14/15 with 31 victories from 54 games (57%).
  • BRC, which is currently only ninth in the standings and eleven points behind the top-5, is the second-best power play team in the league with 21.1%. (AVS 18.5% | #7).
  • AVS has strengthened the roster by signing former VSV player Miika Lahti. The Finnish center played for league rival Villach in the past season. The 33-year-old played all 53 games for EC GRAND Immo VSV and scored 24 points (5G | 19 A). In the season so far, he kept fit in his home country - without many competitions - where he also spent most of his career. There he played exclusively for his hometown club JYP Jyväskylä, 623 games for them in Finland's highest division. Twice he lifted the Liiga Cup. In addition, he participated in the Champions Hockey League in three seasons and also played of the Finnish national team too.

  • With the Steinbach Black Wings 1992 and the spusu Vienna Capitals live on Sky Sport Austria two teams with different forms meet each other.
  • Linz have lost its last four games, while Vienna have won its last four.
  • VIC is still in third place in standings, but has a chance to occupy second place with a win in Linz - if Fehérvár loses after regulation.
  • BWI is still in last place. The Linz side have scored in just seven of their 28 games this season (18 points). Two of their five wins after regulation were against VIC.

  • In Vorarlberg, there will be an explosive duel for the fifth place in the table. The sixth-placed Dornbirn Bulldogs and fifth-placed EC Red Bull Salzburg both hold 43 points. Dornbirn, has played three games more.
  • RBS has picked up ten points from their last four games, DEC only six.
  • On December 28th, these two teams last faced each other. After the Vorarlberg team took an early lead, Salzburg turned the game in its favor with four goals to get its second win of the season over DEC.
  • DEC has won its last three home games in a row and has always scored in its last six home games (15 of a possible 18 points).
  • RBS, meanwhile, leads both the power play (21.3%) and penalty killing (94.12%). The DEC comes in at a PK of 84% (#4), but continues to struggle on the PP (12.6% | #11).

  • EC GRAND Immo VSV and Moser Medical Graz99ers play their fourth duel of the season against each other.
  • After G99 won the first two games (6:2 @VSV and 4:2 @G99), VSV won the third duel 3:1 in Graz on December 26th.
  • Both teams lost their last game, each against EC-KAC, which will not playing on Tuesday.
  • Only six points separate these two teams in the standings. G99 is seventh with 35 points from 27 games, Villach tenth (28 games).
  • The two teams are facing each other for the 118th time. VSV holds a record of 65 wins. Of 58 home games against G99, the "Adler" have won 41.

  • The "Tiroler Derby" between HCB Südtirol Alperia and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie has been moved to 8:15 pm at short notice.
  • The leader from Bolzano has to defend a remarkable home series: since the 1:2 defeat on January 10, 2020, the "Foxes" have scored in each of their 21 home games, only three times there was a defeat.
  • The eighth-placed HCI is struggling to end the negative run, most recently there were six defeats in a row with an average of 4.2 goals conceded.
  • In the three duels so far this season, HCB has always had the upper hand. The first two victories were clear-cut (5:2 and 6:1), but on December 28 they struggled to a 3:2 win.
