Medvescak had their faith in their own hands, but instead they, as coach Doug Bradley said after the game, shot themselves in the foot. They took a minimal 1:0 lead thanks to a Tomas Netik goal into the first intermission, but early in the second period, Tom Zanoski was given a minor penalty for hooking. Seven seconds into the man advantage, Erik Nemec leveled the game up for Znojmo, and so the guests’ domination began. Some five minutes later, Patrik Novak brought Znojmo up by one. Midway through the second frame, David Brine got a double minor penalty for a knee-on-knee hit, and a little over a minute into the powerplay, Petr Mrazek doubled the score. The sense of urgency for Zagreb was rising, but the men in blue could not find ways to the net, let alone to hit the back of the net. After a poor second period where they allowed 18 shots on goal, the hosts came out firing in the third, outshooting Znojmo 13:4, but Adam Raska even added a fourth. The goals for the hosts came too late. Sondre Olden scored to make it 4:2, and shortly after the Bears found themselves on a 5-on-3 powerplay, but no genuinely threatening chances were created. Tomas Netik managed to find the back of the net 13 seconds before the final buzzer on the powerplay, however that was all she wrote. The Bears are still sitting in sixth place.

Black Wings defend second palce with win in Klagenfurt
With a late first period goal Rick Schofield got the lead for Linz and the Upper Austrians had good chances in the second, too. After Broda missed a penalty shot, Klagenfurt's Mitja Robar tied it. Just one minute later Schofield celebrated his second of the night and it became a hat trick when the forward put the Black Wings 3:1 up in the 46th minute. Andrew Kozek pulled one back against his former team and then Manuel Ganahl even scored the equalizer. In the final minutes the hosts let the momentum slip away with Broda scoring a brace for a 5:3 Linz lead. Schofield made the game safe with his 4th of the night.

Innsbruck's Swette gets first season shutout against Villach
While Andrew Clark, Ondrej Sedivy and John Lammers missed for Innsbruck, Benjamin Petrik could not score on Villach's best chance of the first period. At the halfway point of the game Andrew Yogan only struck metalwork but just a few minutes later the Innsbruck forward made the breakthrough. Soon later Ondrej Sedivy doubled the score and it was all Innsbruck. While netminder Rene Swette got his first season shutout, John Lammers rounded off the scoring for a 3:0 home win.

Dornbirn beats Fehervar for the first time
With their first seasonwin against Fehervar, the Dornbirn Bulldogs are back in the race for 6th place. The game has far from gone to plan for the hosts as Janos Hari opened the scoring for the Hungarians on power play. In the second David Gilbert doubled the score off a Oliver Latendresse pass but the hosts bounced back in the third. First, Brodie Reid got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard with a deflection on power play. With ten minutes to go they scored with another man advantage thanks to Martin Mairitsch who fored overtime. In the extra session Biran Connelly became the hero to secure the extra point.

Blowout win for Salzburg against Graz
The 99ers had a perfect start with Daniel Oberkofler scoring after only three minutes. After John Hughes' equalizer from sharp angel, the visitors took another lead by Brock Higgs. And it continued this way when Brant Harris finished a solo attempt for a 2:2 score. Now the Red Bulls took over and had a 4:2 lead until the end of the period thanks to goals by Mario Huber and Peter Mueller. Both teams focused on their defense in the middle frame but two goals were still scored - Julien Brouillette and Dominique Heinrich made the preliminary decision for the Red Bulls within only 36 seconds. After Peter Mueller scored his second of the night in the third, Daniel Natter added a third for Graz. However, the Red Bulls had the final say when Raphael Herburger found the back of the net for a 8:3 home win.
