Eagles win goal spectacle in Villach in the AWHL

The Villach Lady Hawks and DEC Salzburg Eagles delivered a real goal spectacle in Sunday's lone Austrian Women's Hockey League game. The visitors won 11:5 and thus defended their second place in the qualification round.

In Sunday's lone match of the European Women's Hockey League, EVB Eagles South Tyrol celebrated a 5:2 victory over Budapest Jegkorong Akademia and moved back up to second place.

Agnese Apsite opened the scoring in Villach after 87 seconds, and the Salzburg team led 3:1 at the end of the first period. They extended it to four goals in the middle period, and in the end it was a clear 11:5 victory. Hanna Obermayr and Meagan Byrum each scored a brace. The Eagles thus also defended their second place in the qualification round.

The only Sunday game in the European Women's Hockey League between the EVB Eagles South Tyrol and Budapest Jegkorong Akademia was a clear affair for the hosts. Kristin Della Rovere scored an early brace and the hosts pulled away to a 5:0 lead by the 35th minute. In the end, the Eagles won 5:2 and moved back up to second place.
