The EC-KAC Future Team successfully played its first home game in the young AHL season. Head Coach Harri Laurila's team – clearly defeated by the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers (1-7) on the first game day – took the lead late in the first period through Jakob Lippitsch (17.). The Carinthians had the perfect and ultimately game-deciding answer to Philipp Pöschmann's equalizer (26.): Oliver Lam (30./SH1) restored the lead while shorthanded, and Anze Siftar and Nico Kramer extended the lead to 4-1 by the 38th minute. The young "Rotjacken", with goalie Ralf Kropiunig recording 33 saves, took the advantage confidently over time and got their first win of the season. The Vorarlberg team suffered its first defeat of the season.
