The EC-KAC Future Team took the lead in the Alps Hockey League after a 4:3 home win over EK Die Zeller Eisbären. The Rittner Buam and S.G. Cortina Hafro remained without defeat in their second game of the season. Oscar Froberg secured a clear 4:0 road win for HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with a shutout, while Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan kicked-off the new season successfully thanks to a brace from Johan Lorraine.

EC-KAC Future Team holds on to seven pointsThe EC-KAC Future Team picked up points in its third game of the season as well, earning its second win. The Klagenfurt side prevailed against league returnee EK Die Zeller Eisbären with 4:3. Newcomer Jannik Fröwis shone with a hat trick: he first made up for the 0:1 deficit and also the two-goal deficit in the second period. All his goals scored on the power play. Valentin Hammerle hit the game-winner.
Ritten and Cortina remain unbeatenThe Rittner Buam and S.G. Cortina Hafro won their second game of the season too. The former AHL champion from Ritten prevailed against league newcomer HC Meran/o Pircher after shootout with 4:3. Ritten initially turned the game around in the middle frame, but then had to concede the equalizer twice in the final period. The overtime for Meran was pinned down by Oscar Ahlström, who clinched the victory in Jesenice in the opener, 94 seconds left. After a scoreless overtime, the decision was made in the shootout by Ritten's Markus Spinell.
Cortina prevailed 4:2 in Fassa. For the "Falcons" it was the second defeat in the second game. The visitors were 2:0 up after the first period thanks to goals from Johansson and Sanna - and took a solid win. Cortina's goalkeeper Marco De Filippo Roja recorded a save percentage of 94.3%.
Shutout victory for JeseniceHDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice picked up its first win of the season. Last year's semifinalist won at Steel Wings Linz without conceding a goal 4:0. Oscar Froberg celebrated his first shutout in the Alps Hockey League. About halfway through the game the Slovenians took the lead through Patrik Rajsar, with three goals in the final period Jesenice cleared it. Both Eric Pance (1G|2A) and Elo Eetu (3A) scored three points.
Broncos win in first game of the seasonFor the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan - they were free of play on Saturday’s season start - the 21/22 season in the Alps Hockey League kicked-off with a 4:1 win over Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The South Tyroleans, which continue to play in Bressanone due to the arena collapse, took the lead in a duel of few chances through Swedish newcomer Johan Lorraine while shorthanded, which they extended to 4:1 in the middle period. Lorraine made another goal and an assist to this opening win.
