EC-KAC advances to finals
EC-KAC secured their participation in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League final with a 1:0 home win over EC Red Bull Salzburg on Monday. The "Rotjacken" decided the "best-of-7" semifinal series 4:1 in their favor and remain without defeat on home ice in the ongoing playoffs. For the eleventh time in a row, Klagenfurt converted a 3:1 series lead in the fifth game. From the beginning, the game was characterized by a lot of speed and commitment on both sides - with typical playoff character, the teams tried primarily not to concede a goal. In the middle frame, EC-KAC then took the lead through Clemens Unterweger (26.): Manuel Ganahl served him on the left side and Unterweger's shot slid between the pads of Jesper Eliasson into the goal. A little later a Rick Schofield goal was changed to no-goal due to interference on Sebastian Dahm - the KAC goalkeeper still prevented the equalizer with good saves in the middle period. In the final frame, the KAC initially had good opportunities again, but no chance against Eliasson. In their own defensive zone, the "Rotjacken" picked it up, allowed no good opportunities and also survived the Salzburg final offensive. Sebastian Dahm posted a shutout on home ice for the second time in a row, stopping 28 shots.

HCB Südtirol Alperia close to finals
HCB Südtirol Alperia is about to advance to the final series of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. The "foxes" beat the spusu Vienna Capitals 4:2 and took the 3:2 lead in the "best-of-7" semifinal series with their third home win. On Wednesday, the two-time champions now have the chance to follow EC-KAC into the final. Bolzano had clearly more - also dangerous - offensive actions. A first penalty against Luca Frigo in the 14th minute took away the "foxes" momentum, Vienna built up pressure and 65 seconds left Ty Loney (19.) scored. But soon in the middle period the home team equalized when Angelo Miceli (24.) benefited from a turnover and finished alone in front of Bernhard Starkbaum. Shortly after, Mike Halmo checked Ali Wukovits: the Viennese could not continue playing, the South Tyrolean got a 2+2 penalty for it. On powerplay Loney (28.) retook the lead, but Rafael Rotter occurred a turnover and Anton Bernard (29.) a little later equalized again shorthanded. Vienna then found more chances before the home team managed the decision: Gleason Fournier (49.) got his own rebound, skated around the goal and shot from the right. Starkbaum was without view in this situation. The guests then let up a bit in terms of fitness. Luca Frigo rounded off the score with an empty-netter.
