EC-KAC wins ninth home-derby in a row
In the 330th Kärntner Derby the EC-KAC took a 3:1 home-win to make the ninth consecutive victory against the EC Grand Immo VSV on home ice, with the “eagles” remain waiting for the first win in Klagenfurt since February 2nd 2016. Despite the VSV opened the scoring after 35 second, the “Rotjacken” earned a deserved victory. Dennis Sticha (3.) tied the game early, Thomas Hundertpfund (29.) took the lead and Clemens Unterweger (49.) sealed the deal for the EC-KAC.

Salzburg climbs to top

The EC Red Bull Salzburg took the lead in standings after a 6:3 road-win at Black Wings 1992. With the third season win, the six-times champion remains unbeaten in the running season, while the Upper Austrians had to take the third consecutive defeat. Three goals within less than three minutes late in the second got Taylor Chorney, who scored a brace, on winning ways. John Peterka, who was drafted into the NHL by the Buffalo Sabres last week, extended his goal-scoring-streak to three.

Dornbirn turns it around
After trailing 0:3 early in the opening frame, the Dornbirn Bulldogs managed to turn the game at Hydro Fehérvár AV19 around and finally cheered a 5:4 win after overtime. Rapuzzi (41./SH1), Fröwis (44.) and Macierzynski (46.) got the guests on track an up by one goal. The Hungarian side was able to bounce back, but came out short in the extra session, as Anton Starka hit the game winner.

Cameranesi shines with four goals
With four goals in the first 30 minutes of the game Anthony Cameranesi shined for the Moser Medical Graz99ers in their 7:5 home-win against HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie. The Styrians got the preliminary decision in the first half of the game, led by seven. 15 minutes to go, Innsbruck picked it up, scored five unanswered goals to show a little morality.
