With a clear 5:1 victory at Moser Medical Graz99ers, leader EC Red Bull Salzburg remains unbeaten in road games. After the third season-win over HC Orli Znojmo, the HCB Südtirol Alperia climed to second spot in standings for the first time this season. Further the HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie”, the EC Panaceo VSV and Hydro Fehérvar AV19 booked road wins too, after each trailing by one during the game. While Villach crowed over Vienna after overtime, the Hungarian side won after shootout, which gave bottom placed Dornbirn Bulldogs the first point out of a home game this season.
Salzburg remains unbeaten on the road
The EC Red Bull Salzburg remains unbeaten in road games, as the leader cheered its ninth victory away winning at Moser Medical Graz99ers 5:1. It was Salzburg’s 25th win in Graz and 99ers’s first loss after three consecutive wins in the past days. With two goals within 40 seconds – including Connor Brickley’s first in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga – the “Red Bulls” made the preliminary decision in the game. 41 saves of JP Lamoureux hindered the guests to come back, pulling only one by Joakim Hillinding, while Graz scored three more in the last 128 seconds.
Innsbruck wrests win away from KAC
The EC-KAC had to take a 2:3-defeat in its 1000. Erste Bank Eishockey Liga game (since 2003-04 season), as the “Rotjacken” lost to HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” at home 2:3. Without captain Tyler Spurgeon and Jesper Thörnberg the Tyrolese won after five consecutive losses on the road and destroyed Klagenfurt’s home winning streak. Innsbruck tied the game twice until Joel Broda scored the game-winner with his second goal of the night to give the “sharks” the first win over KAC after five losses in a row.
Fraser scores game-winner against his former team
With Jamie Fraser hitting the game-winner in overtime, the EC Panaceo VSV snatched up a 3:2 road win at Vienna to give the spusu Vienna Capitals the second home defeat in the running season. Villach climbed to fifth place in standings, three points behind Vienna. After Martin Ulmer scored on PP in the 7th minute, the “Caps” turned it around with Wukovits (19.) and Kichton (23.). But Ulmer’s second of the night – his third brace this season – got the “eagles” in OT, where Fraser decided the game.
Two Robertson goals get Bolzano another win against Znojmo
For the third time this season Znojmo played Bolzano and for the third time the team of head coach Clayton Beddoes took the win. After a goalless first period, Tomas Svoboda broke the spell early in the second with a power play marker. Bolzano's Angelo Miceli tied it at one before the second intermission, though. In the third Dennis Robertson became the hero with scoring his first two goals in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. With ten minutes to go the Bolzano defender found the back of the net from distance. After the visitors killed a 5 on 3 Znojmo power play, Robertson made the game safe with an empty netter. With this win Bolzano moved up to second place in the standings.
Fehérvár secures shootout win at Dornbirn
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 secured a tight 4:3 win at Dornbirn Bulldogs after shootout, which gave the Austrian side the first point in a home game this season. With two goals within 70 seconds Dornbirn tied it a three – and got it to a non-goal extra session. Fehérvár secured the extra point in shootout.
