The regular season of Alps Hockey League is on the finishing straight. With two to four games left, four quarterfinal tickets are already assigned. Eight teams between the fifths and the twelfths place have still the possibility for grab the remaining for playoff-spots.

The S.G. Cortina Hafro have hard work in front of them in the final four games, to qualify for the AHL-Playoffs. Currently they are trailing by five points to the eights place and a win against the KAC could already be a must win. Before the break Cortina lost an important game against Pustertal and brought themselves into a tough position. The KAC lost its past five games and will definitely end the season on the last place.

With three games left the EC Bregenzerwald is trailing by two points to the important eighths place. The game against the Rittner Buam is coming to an inopportune moment, as a win against the acting champ would be quite important in the race for the Playoffs. In the first duel of these two teams Ritten celebrated a clear 8:4 success. But before the break they had to take a defeat against Ljubljana.

The Zeller Eisbären made the jump into the top-8 eight last week and oust Sterzing to the ungrateful ninths place. But Sterzing has still one game more on the schedule and have it in their own hands to book the playoff-ticket. The direct duel between these two teams will give the winner the best position for the qualification. The Eisbären won the past three games. The executive board of the EK Zeller Eisbären resigned with immediate effect.

The HC Pustertal has the best chances to be the next team, to book the playoff ticket. The Fassa Falcons lost the past seven games but are still not to underestimate. The first three duels of this season clearly went to Pustertal. With another three points the Qualification should be secured. Pustertal won the past two games and aims to continue the streak.

The VEU booked its ticket in the past round and aims now to secure the fourth place which would mean home advantage in the quarterfinals. For Kitzbühel the Playoffs are already out of reach, but still they aim to end the season with wins, as they have only two more game on the schedule. Feldkirch won the past three duels against Kitzbühel, but two of them went in extra time.

The Juniors made the jump into the top-8 and with four games left on the schedule, they have it in their own hands to book the ticket. They won four out of the past five games of their gigantic program in the past weeks. Gherdeina hat to take four defeats in the past four games.
