Ethan Szypula was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2024/25 season by the Alps Hockey League's trade journalists. The 28-year-old center of the Rittner Buam SkyAlps shone this season with an outstanding 103 points (27 goals | 76 assists) and thus made history: The Canadian was the first player ever to break the 100-point mark in a season.

It was Ethan Szypula's second season in the Alps Hockey League with the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. After collecting a strong 67 points last year, the center surpassed all previous records this time. The previous points record was 89 points - set by Matt Wilkins in the 2019/20 season for HC Gherdeina valgardena.it.

To crown his outstanding performances, Szypula was named the most valuable player of the season by hockey journalists. He only failed to score in seven of his 54 games this season. His longest scoring streak lasted 17 games - from the start of the season until December 3. He scored five points in one game twice: in the 9:5 home win against Sterzing on October 5 and in the 6:0 win against Celje on February 4. The 28-year-old scored four times in six other games.

Max Zimmermann of EK Die Zeller Eisbären received the second most votes. With a save percentage of 93.7%, the goalkeeper of the premiere finalist is clearly at the top of the save percentage statistics. The 25-year-old native of Vienna has already celebrated a shutout in six games. Third place goes to Adam Capannelli of the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, the second-best scorer of the current season (81 points). With 34 goals, the 25-year-old Canadian is also the top goalscorer of the current campaign.
