Lakers Kärnten miss playoffs despite back-to-back wins
Lakers Kärnten came up just short in the EWHL playoff race. Despite securing two wins against Tauron Metropolia Silesia over the weekend, it wasn’t quite enough to clinch a postseason spot. After earning a 3-2 shootout win on Saturday, the team followed up with a 3-1 victory on Sunday. However, they would have needed two regulation wins to punch their ticket to the playoffs.

Meanwhile, regular-season champs HK PSRZ Bratislava cruised to a 5-2 win over the Salzburg Eagles. Aisulu Almaty wrapped up the weekend with a 6-2 victory over the Sabres St. Pölten.

EWHL Quarterfinal Matchups:
HK PSRZ Bratislava (#1) vs. Budapest Jegkorong Akademia (#7)
Aisulu Almaty (#2) vs. Tauron Metropolia Silesia (#8)
EVB Eagles South Tyrol (#3) vs. KSV Highlanders (#6)
MAC Budapest (#4) vs. Sabres St. Pölten (#5)

The quarterfinals will be played in a home-and-away series, with the aggregate score determining the winner. If the total score is tied after two games, Game 2 will go to overtime.
