As exciting as the regular season and the playoffs of the win2day ICE Hockey League 2022/23 were, the team of the season is just as balanced. Fans voted for protagonists from six different teams in the seven positions via the league's social media channels. Only HC TIWAG Innsbruck is represented twice.

Atte Tolvanen | Goalie | EC Red Bull Salzburg

Atte Tolvanen of EC Red Bull Salzburg was voted Most Valuable Player of the playoffs by the hockey journalists for the second time in a row. But the Finnish goalkeeper could also convince the fans of the win2day ICE Hockey League. Not only did the goalie shine in the playoffs with an incredible .946 save percentage - over the entire season, Tolvanen is also the only goalie in the league to boast a .930 save percentage. In addition, the champion goalie came up with six shutouts - three of them in the postseason.

Nick Mattinen | Defender | EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV

With 43 points, Nick Mattinen was one of the highest-scoring defensemen of the past season. In addition, the 25-year-old Canadian - who will play for the Straubing Tigers (DEL) in the coming season - has the third-best +/- value in the league with +37.

Ryan Culkin | Defender | HCB Südtirol Alperia

No one in the win2day ICE Hockey League played more league games in the 22/23 season than Ryan Culkin. With 67 appearances, the HCB Südtirol Alperia defender reached the absolute maximum, not missing a single game. In the process, he managed 31 assists - making him defender with the second most assists in the league.

Max Zimmer | Forward | spusu Vienna Capitals

With 34 goals, Max Zimmer was the most successful scorer of the win2day ICE Hockey League season 22/23. He played an important part for the spusu Vienna Capitals reaching the semifinals for the fifth time in a row. In the quarterfinal against Innsbruck, the 25-year-old US American earned seven points.

Adam Helewka | Forward | HC TIWAG Innsbruck

No player scored more goals in the regular season than Adam Helewka. The Innsbruck forward had 28 goals, making him one of the big offensive factors of the team. With 44 assists over the entire season, Helewka also recorded as many assists as only Matt Bradley (VIC) and teammate Brady Shaw. In terms of points per game (1.49), the HCI forward was the number one.

With Brady Shaw, for the first time a player of HC TIWAG Innsbruck was elected Most Valuable Player of the Regular Season. The 30-year-old Canadian scored 69 points in the regular season - more than any other player. Shaw also had 43 assists during the entire season, which is also a season record.

Philipp Lukas | Head Coach | Steinbach Black Wings Linz

In his first season as head coach in the win2day ICE Hockey League, Phil Lukas brought success back to Linz. For a short time, the only Austrian head coach in the league was even at the top of the table with the Upper Austrians, but almost permanently among the top 6 teams. Only a weak phase at the end of the regular season cost the direct playoff qualification. Nevertheless, the Linz side made it to the quarterfinals and challenged the eventual runners-up Bolzano over seven games.
