While Michele Marchetti and Captain Martin Castlunger returned to Fassa's lineup, Feldkirch missed several players. After only five minutes the hosts opened the scoring when Linus Lundström found the back of the net. The VEU was not shocked and soon later Robin Soudek scored the deserved equalizer. The guests even had chances to take the lead but Fassa goalie Zacharchenko had some good saves. With two minutes to go in the first, Michele Marchetti restored the home team's lead off a Caletti pass. It remained an even-balanced game in the second with Fassa being more efficient as Chiodo put his side 3:1 up. However, Kevin Puschnik pulled one back with another power play marker. In the third Feldkirch pressed for the equalizer but they failed to score. When they pulled their goalie in a final push, Castlunger made it safe with an empty netter. While Fassa moved up to fifth place, Feldkirch remained 7th.
