Fehervar AV19 could not score at Klagenfurt
Just 23 seconds were played at Klagenfurt and Fehervar AV19 cheered already for the first time. But the referees checked the situation on the video and came to the conclusion no goal. The Hungarians then took two penalties (8.). The Carinthians could not take advantage from the 5-on-3 Power Play, but they found better into the game now and scored the lead just moments later in a shorthanded situation (11.): Marco Richter finished a short diagonal-pass from Julian Talbot. Moments later MacMillan Carruth stopped Marco Brucker from scoring the 2:0. Period two did not offer much good scoring-chances. After a shot from Manuel Ganahl the puck found it‘s way through the legs from goalie Carruth and the score was 2:0. Still in period 2 Manuel Ganahl extended the lead in a Power Play – 3:0. Now the Austrians were the chief on the ice. In period 3 Klagenfurt controlled the game and added the 4:0. Klagenfurt celebrated their seventh win in a row and received no goal in the last three games...
Bulldogs already Top 4
Dornbirn Bulldogs missed an early Power Play, but nevertheless the Austrians took the lead: Chris D’Alvise (11.) scored from the right Face-off. The guests from Znojmo had a quick answer: Jiri Beroun scored backhand and the score was 1:1. Goalie Rasmus Rinne was beaten for the first time since 137 minutes. After the re-start the Red Eagles took some penalties and this was punished by DEC: 5-on-3 Jamie Arniel scored after some quick passes from a short angel - 2:1 (23.). The Czechs fighted and could equalize again - David Bartos made the 2:2 (53.). A penalty for Radek Cip costed Znojmo possible points: The Austrians took the lead again in the Power Play and added then even the 4:2 into the empty net. After the second win within 24 hours Dornbirn is already a Top 4 team.
Innsbruck ends bad road-run at Villach, Markus Peintner replaces Greg Holst as VSV-Headcoach
Both teams missed a good chance, before HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ took the lead at Villach in minute 7: Mitch Wahl scored from a sharp angel. Villach failed to answer in a Power Play, but could equalize just moments later: Stefan Bacher was successful with a shot from the blue line. In period two the Tyroleans took full advantage from their Power Plays: First Andrew Yogan was successful with a Onetimer in a Power Play and then Hunter Bishop scored from a short distance in another Power Play – 3:1. Villach answered quickly with a shot from Markus Schlacher and the score was 2:3. Period three did not offer much offense on both sides. Valentin Leiler failed to score from short distance after a perfect pass from Andrew Sarauer (55.). This was also the best chance for Villach. On the other side Andrew Clark decided the match with an empty net goal – 4:2. After the game Villach announced, that Assistant Coach Markus Peintner replaces Greg Holst as Head Coach.
Black Wings beat Bozen
EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz had a perfect start, already in minute 2 Bernhard Fechtig scored from the blue line. The Upper Austrians dominated now, but after some minutes Bozen found better into the game and could equalize then: Christopher Carlisle scored from the slot the 1:1. The Steel Citizens stayed unimpressed and quickly took the lead again: After a nice combination Brian Lebler scored from a short distance in a Power Play – 2:1.
After the rest-start Bozen threatened a few times, but goalie Mike Ouzas was on Fire. Linz was more effectiv and scored the 3:1 from Corey Locke (25.). Linz was now the chief on the ice, but missed to extend their lead in period 2.
