Fehervar AV19 signed Canadian forward David Gilbert, who was 2016/17 the best goal-scorer in France. EC-KAC extends the contract with forward Patrick Harand.

With David Gilbert the best goal-scorer from the French League switches to Fehervar AV19. The Canadian made 2016/17 in his first season in Europe for Bordeaux 63 points – 33 goals and 30 Assists – from 53 games. Also before in the East Cost Hockey League the Center showed his scoring-qualities, made 133 points (61G/72A) from 211 ECHL-games. Besides the 26-years old Forward, who was drafted by the Chicago Blackhaws 2009 in round 7, made between 2009 and 2014 totally 54 games in the American Hockey League and scored there 13 points (5G/8A). „I always had the desire to play in the Erste Bank Eishockey League. An opportunity presented itself with Fehérvár.  I talked to Daniel Koger, who I previously played with in Toledo in 13-14 about the team, the league, the city and it was all positive. I'm an offensive minded player. The best way I can help the team is by scoring important goals. I'll help the team the best way I can in the role the coach will give me.“, said David Gilbert. Headcoach Benoit Laporte added: „Gilbert is a big centerman with good offensive skill, he will bring size and creativity. He his young and hungry to prove that he can be a dominant player in one of the top leagues in Europe.“
 
EC-KAC extended the contract with Patrick Harand. The Austrian Forward will play 2017/18 already his sixth season for the Red Jackets. In so far 690 games in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga for the UPC Vienna Capitals, EC Red Bull Salzburg (Champion 2007, 2008), Moser Medical Graz99ers and Klagenfurt (Champion 2013) Harand scored 100 goals and 186 Assists.
