Fehérvár and Ljubljana suffer preseason defeats

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and Olimpija Ljubljana conceded preseason defeats on Thursday. While the Hungarians were clearly beaten at Mountfield HK, the Slovenians lost in Nitra after conceding late goals.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 conceded a clear 1:6 defeat at Mountfield. The team from Hradec Kralove led 3:0 after two periods. Csanad Erdely reduced the deficit early in the third period with a shorthanded goal. However, the Czechs pulled away again. It was the second defeat in the second preseason game for the Hungarians.

Olimpja Ljubljana were also beaten in their second preseason game. The Slovenians lost 2:4 in Zvolen. After a goalless first period, the ICE representatives took the lead in the 22nd minute through Zach Boychuk. Ex-Pustertal player Josh Wesley equalised in the middle period and the Slovakians even turned the game in their favour in the third period. Clayton Kirichenko (58') managed to equalise, but the home side scored two more goals in the final two minutes.
