Fehérvár extends win streak
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 remains on fire, scoring their fifth straight win on the road against EC-KAC – their second consecutive shutout. Fehérvár’s top scorer Janos Hari netted the opening goal in the tenth minute, and the team played with discipline and tight defense throughout. Goalie Rasmus Reijola allowed no goals for the second straight game, earning his third shutout of the season. EC-KAC fell 0-1 and stayed goalless for the second time this season against the Hungarians. For the KAC who are still dealing with multiple absences, this marked a second loss in a row.

Salzburg moves to third after top-game win
EC Red Bull Salzburg put an end to HCB Südtirol Alperia’s winning streak. After five consecutive victories, the South Tyroleans fell 2-3 to the reigning three-time champs in this top match. The Foxes took an early lead just two minutes in. Salzburg, however, took control in the second period through their special teams, scoring three unanswered power-play goals. Bozen managed to score again a minute before the final buzzer, but it wasn’t enough to force overtime, especially with Salzburg goalie David Kickert in top form.

Linz and Ljubljana secure wins in OT/SO
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz celebrated a hard-fought 5-4 overtime win over EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. Despite initially controlling the game with leads of 2-0 and 4-2, the Villachers fought back twice, equalizing with a two-goal performance from Alexander Rauchenwald. In OT, VSV even had a chance to take the win, but the Black Wings kept their cool, and Greg Moro sealed the deal. With their third consecutive loss, VSV has now dropped to the bottom of the win2day ICE Hockey League standings.

In a high-quality contest, Olimpija Ljubljana took a 3-2 shootout win over HC Pustertal. After a scoreless opening period, the South Tyroleans took the lead twice in the middle period, but the Slovenians answered each time. With no goals in the third period or overtime, the game was decided in a shootout. As Ljubljana’s fourth shooter, Marcel Mahkovec was the only player to convert, securing the extra point for his team.

Asiago and Pioneers celebrate key victories
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey continued their role as the league’s giant killers. After wins over Bozen, Salzburg, and Linz, the Northern Italians also took down the Moser Medical Graz99ers. Hungry from the start, Asiago pushed hard and ended the first period with a 2-0 lead. The Styrians increased their pressure but couldn’t break through against Asiago goalie Evan Coley. Graz did manage to score in the final period, but Asiago kept their cool and extended their lead to 4-1. After their third loss in four games, the 99ers dropped to fourth place, while Asiago climbed to ninth with their second consecutive win.

The Pioneers Vorarlberg notched their second win in three games, leaving the bottom of the table behind. The Vorarlberg team started strong against the spusu Vienna Capitals, leading 3-0 by the 23rd minute, with Ramon Schnetzer scoring twice. The Capitals responded with a goal from Christof Kromp in the middle period, but couldn’t mount a comeback. The Pioneers ultimately took a decisive 5-1 victory.
