Fehévár ends Foxes' point streak
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 celebrated a sovereign 3:1 victory against HCB Südtirol Alperia and thus not only ended HCB Südtirol Alperia's eight-game point streak, but also pushed them back from second place in the table. After two season losses against the South Tyroleans, the Devils managed their first win in a direct duel in exactly one year. Andrew Sauer scored a brace in the 3:1 win over Bozen. Goalie Rasmus Tirronen missed his first shutout of the season by just 20 seconds.

Znojmo makes a leap to pre-playoff places
After the clear rebuff on Wednesday in Székesfehérvár, HC TESLA Orli Znojmo managed a 3:1 victory over Steinbach Black Wings Linz to jump back into the top-10 and thus to the pre-playoff places. For the Upper Austrians, this was the third defeat in a row. After just under 40 scoreless minutes, defender Adam Sedlak scored for the Czechs. The Linzers couldn't find their way back into the match and eventually had to end their seventh game of the season without a goal. Pavel Kantor, on the other hand, was able to celebrate his first shutout of the current season.

Innsbruck wins part 1 of the back-to-back duel
HC TIWAG Innsbruck wins the first part of the back-to-back duel with the Moser Medical Graz99ers and puts itself in a more comfortable position in the standings. After the Tyroleans were still in eleventh place a few days ago and thus facing an early end to the season after the regular season, the Sharks have meanwhile climbed to seventh place in the table. The Moser Medical Graz99ers, on the other hand, start from eleventh place - the "ejection seat" - into the second home duel within 24 hours. After an even and scoreless start third, the guests presented themselves more efficient and took the 1:0 lead. The 99ers pressed for the equalizer in the final period, but always failed to overcome Tom McCollum before Alex Dostie gave them the 2-0 lead with just under eight minutes remaining. Ben Blood scored the second goal for the Styrians a little later, but the Sharks finally prevailed 3:2. Alex Dostie scored a brace.

Schneider hat-trick brings Salzburg victory over VSV
Table leader EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a 4:1 victory over EC Grand Immo VSV and thus further extended their lead in the standings. The Villach side suffered their second defeat after their 21-day league break, on Rick Schofield's comeback, and thus drop to eighth place in the table. In the first period, the efficient guests from Salzburg, despite playing advantages for VSV, took a 2-1 lead. The Red Bulls, led by Peter Schneider, also took control in the second period. Schneider scored a hat-trick by the 40th minute, giving the league leaders a 4:1 lead and also taking the lead in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League scorers' table. For the MVP from the 2018/19 season, this was the third career hat trick. Meanwhile, the Villach side despaired of Salzburg goalie JP Lamoureux - the MVP of the 2019/20 season. Derek Joslin was able to add to his tally in the final period against his former team, but ultimately suffered a 1:4 defeat.

Ljubljana conquers fourth place in table after shut-out
HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana ended the four-game winning streak of HC Pustertal. While the Slovenians thus managed to jump to fourth place in the table, HC Pustertal dropped back to tenth place and thus to the last pre-playoff spot. After a goalless first period with advantages for the Slovenians, the Dragons scored the first goal in the middle period. Ljubljana prevailed for the third time with 3:0. While Paavo Holsa celebrated his second shutout of the season, Pustertal failed to score for the sixth time in the current season.

Bulldogs trip up KAC
The Dornbirn Bulldogs posted the surprise of Friday's matchday, registering their second win in the past three games. Klagenfurt thus had to give up points in all four encounters with the Vorarlbergers. The direct duel thus went to the Bulldogs with 7:5 points. The guests got off to a lightning start in the match. After just 61 seconds Kevin Hancock put the Bulldogs in the lead. Lukas Haudum's answer followed late in the first period. After a goalless middle period, the Vorarlbergers presented themselves more efficient than the hosts from Klagenfurt. Pavlo Padakin provided the decision in the 50th minute. In the standings, the KAC thus slipped to fifth place.
