Jesse Jyrkkiö learnt to play hockey at his home club Porin Ässät, making it to the first team early. After transferring to other Finnish teams over the years, he went abroad for the first time in 2014 to join Moser Medical Graz99ers. After 15 games with the Styrians (one goal, seven assists, +2), Jyrkkiö switched to Denmark, where he also played last season. The 27-year-old became runners-up with Gentofte Stars and now he returns to Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. "I played some games for Graz 99ers a couple of seasons ago and really enjoyed the type of game teams play in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Also, in many cities there were a lot of people watching the games that makes it even more fun for players. I didn't get the chance to play in Hungary on my short visit in the EBEL, I played one game against Fehérvár in Graz. It was really cool to play against my childhood hero Frank Banham, he was dominating Finnish league when I was around ten years old”, reports new arrival Jyrkkiö.
