Hydro Fehérvár AV19 couldn’t be stopped, not even by the former leaders, HCB Südtirol Alperia. The Hungarian squad secured their eighth consecutive victory on Saturday in Bolzano, once again without dropping a single point. Fehérvár now holds the exact same record as Bolzano, but with a slightly better goal differential. The first period on Saturday night saw Bolzano and Fehérvár go head-to-head in a high-quality battle, though it remained scoreless. In the second period, however, Fehérvár turned up the heat and took a commanding 3-0 lead. Their final goal in that period came just two seconds before the horn. Bolzano didn’t back down, rallying in the third period and managing two goals to stay in the game. But Fehérvár held strong, securing a 5-3 win and the chance to head into the International Break sitting at the top of the standings.

Ljubljana Grabs Third Place
Olimpija Ljubljana now holds third place, at least until Sunday afternoon. The Slovenian team defeated HC TIWAG Innsbruck 4-2 in their Saturday game. Ljubljana struck first in the opening period, but Innsbruck answered quickly in the second, scoring twice to briefly take the lead. The Slovenian “Dragons” roared back, though, with three quick goals in just under two minutes, closing out the second period at 4-2 – which would stand as the final score.
